    Ticking Noise under car, passenger side.

    Hi,

    Hope you are all safe in these quite weird times.

    Anyway, today I found a noise that I never heard before, a "random" ticking noise under the car (Front left)

    I have noticed this on mine, only once in 18 months. I had been on a decent drive, and pulled over to speak to someone through the left window. Noticed it then as engine still running. Got out to take a look and found nothing unusual. Did think the car smelled hot, and assumed it had recently completed a DPF regen, and the ticking related to the heat? Never been in same situation since, so not heard it again.
    Of course this was all supposition on my part.

    Oh, thanks for your feedback! I also noticed this after a long drive (3h straight), the car did not smell hot, however.

    Will see how it goes today and tomorrow night when we are back in Tokyo.

    The noise is still there after driving the car a few minutes it will appear, less pronounced but still there.

    Sent the audio file to my dealer and called them, they will get back to me. Confused

    Update.

    The noise only seems to appear with the AC is turned ON. Turned OFF no noise whatsoever.

    Is this

    1. Water dropping on hot metallic part or?
    2. AC Pump problem?
