    Can somebody tell me if you can watch youtube video footage in the disco 5, from the web browser.

    No you can't - have tried... tried all sorts of things to watch web video and couldn't get it to work!

    ps - if you are desperate to watch YouTube, then you'd need to jailbreak your phone and run a thing called carbridge to run video apps over CarPlay... at which point I lost interest in trying to get it working.

    I was just playing about with the system notice that in the bbc news I was unable to watch any video footage, I then tried youtube out of interest, but nupe didn't work so thought someone in the form might know. Don't know why though.

    Web browser implementations in cars is very basic and is being dropped by many manufacturers.
    For a full implementation you the full range of video drivers etc, ie. you would need something with the complexity of Chrome/Firefox to be built in.

    That's why they are implementing Apple Carplay and Android Auto, leaving all the fancy internet stuff to others to worry about!
