    Tyre wear rate

I must say I am impressed with the wear rate on the Pirelli scorpion all season tyres on my D5. I have done over 25k miles and all four tyres have 5.8mm on them, really evenly worn with no swapping around.

    Not bad at all..

Now gone - D5 HSE 2Ltr in Corris with black roof, black & dynamic packs & 22" black alloys, a bit of a change after 2 D3's and 2 D4's Smile

Just under 4 on the front, 5.5 on the rear at 20k miles - but I do have a new set of the noise reduction Pirelli’s sitting in the garage, £60 to fit and balance, so it takes the pain out of it.

I'm at 33K miles (53K km) on the original set of Goodyears, down to just under 3mm now evenly without rotating tyres.

2017 Discovery Td6 HSE Fuji White

My 2017 Td6 did 35,000 miles on the original Pirelli's not too bad for a 2.4 ton vehicle I guess?

As a contrast, my previous 2012 XC60 AWD (which is primarily FWD) used to go through front tyres in about 28,000 and the rears did 72,000. Yes I ignored the advice of always putting the new tyres on the rear of a FWD vehicle.

    Similar thoughts from me.

    Changed ours at circa 35k.

    10% off a Kwik Fit.

Mobile fitting £1100 including the VAT.

If you’re reclaiming the VAT, they workout the cheapest because most of the online firms aren’t UK company’s.

I think they’re more like 10mm to begin with, which helps.

Our X3 M40i is 12k tops for its tyres.

Even 285/40x22 Pirelli’s aren’t that much for four.

Where are you guys getting tyres fitted? Most places I am looking, Pirelli verde all seasons in 22” guise are £280 a corner.

Even tyre leader that I saw recommended by someone on this site.

Just phone around the locals. I tend to give my business to an independent on the basis that they were one of a few only that would consider repairing a tyre on another of our cars that had that sealant gunk in it. Cost me £20 instead of a new tyre or two.
