    Chip Shortage

    I have an order estimated for build in June.

    I see the UK factories have stopped due to the chip shortage.

    I can't believe the Disco factory in Slovakia will be able to carry on for any length of time, so I'm assuming there may be a big slippage on delivery.

    LR are saying that the Nitra plant is not affected at the moment. When did you order your D5?
    Discovery 5 D300 Metropolitan.

    It was ordered early March

    I can't imagine that the Disco will be unaffected by a worldwide chip shortage, so fully expecting production to be affected soon...

    Mine has a build date of 7 May, dealership says no indication of delays they are aware of.

    The chip shortage isn't affecting the L462 Discovery. Only Evoque, Discovery Sport and Velar are affected

    The factory they are built in? It would make sense to me to keep supplies to one or more plants whilst mothballing others. Given that the Defender rolls out of Nitra, keep the limited supplies flowing there?

    A guess, but one that works for me.

    2017 Discovery Td6 HSE Lux Fuji White

    Ordered mine december 23rd (2020), est. build date was may 19th 2021.
    It was then moved to may 6th in march and actually build on monday (may 3rd).

    In addition, I saw a J/LR letter that said only plug-in-hybrids are affected by the shortage so far. So no need to worry about D5 and Defender just yet.

    Plug-In-Hybrid technology. They need special chips for the control modules.
