    Front passenger window sticking

Hi, as the title says, the front passenger window has started sticking when trying to close it. It closes a couple of inches then it almost appears to catch on something and the fascia around the button starts to lift as the window slowly closes! By pressing firmly down on the fascia we can get the window closed the whole way. No obvious cause, have only owned the car for 2 months so don’t know if it’s a warmer weather problem?? Car is 4 years old.

We had the drivers side window mechanism replaced under warranty just last month.
Known problem with the mechanism and wire snapping apparently, due to water ingress causing the wire to rust and subsequently to fail.
Initially thought it was the frosty weather as car was parked outside, but the AA guy confirmed that he had seen several with this problem. Even the garage confirmed it was a well known issue.

Thanks, pretty sure the mechanism is fine though as when pressing the fascia down (or indeed gently pushing the window outwards), the window closes no problem. Will wait and try it again on a colder day to see if temperature is causing an issue. Otherwise might be a trip back to the dealership...

Its maybe possible that a few nuts and bolts have worked themselves loose over the years.
Our button fascia never moved. Window was struggling to go up after going down. Had to manually shimmy it up and jam a lollipop stick inside it as it totally came of the mechanism.
Gave the Mrs a fright when it suddenly fell down, even though i had temporarily stuck gaffer tape onto the top of the door frame. Surprising how heavy the window is even though i had 3 bits of tape on it.

Update - the internal door trim clips were “insecure”, all sorted now 👍🏼
