    Near miss

    A Monday morning muse.

    Well, yesterday the wife and I went out for some shopping. No great deal I suppose, I am north of Ullapool in the Highlands. I didn’t see any vehicles in the 100 miles round trip apart from one Camper Van at the Ledmore Junction on the NC500 that almost pulled out into my path and had to stand on its brakes. Censored typical.

    Here’s a Google earth of the junction, although I probably have it on my BlackVue if I get the time to look.

    Ah, cheers. As far as I remember Dave was in a fairly northern part of Scotland, which is why 2+2 turned out to make 5. Used to post a lot and then disappeared

    It doesn't surprise me, its an almost daily occurance for me, having to 'dodge' drivers that 'haven't seen' me., I drive daily a LWB, Hi Top Sprinter c/w DRL, so how the hell they dont see me is unbeleivable. Until recently I rode motorcycles so developed a defensive and observational method of driving which gives me the edge over these idiots. My Disco has autonomous emergency braking etc but I dont think I ever want to test it.

    Can't see you as they are busy looking at their phones, which are in-between their knees.

    Amount I have seen, heads buried into their laps at traffic lights, only for someone behind to beep them.

    So blatantly obvious when driving, glancing down for several secs at a time.

    No sympathy if caught and fined.

    DD is from the Black Isle, a 15 min drive from Inverness, as am originally from that neck of the woods myself. I think has had enough, and got shot of his D5 as not heard a peep from him in ages. Either that or he has won the lotto and sitting in the sunshine somewhere 🤣
