    Front and rear recovery points

I presume that front recovery is as per the RRS which is a bracket with an eyelet about 40mmØ the bracket is bolted onto the ally subframe (I spotted this on the factory tour).
I could not determine what the rear recovery point is.

I think but could be wrong that the recovery points on the RRS and FFRR are for road recovery not off road recovery. If this is the case with the D5 then they clearly dont expect it to go off road Sad

Chatting to the display team today - rear recovery for snatch is on the towbar mounting - either fixed or retractable. Shocked

So fine if you are out ploughing then......

My dealer has had a drive in the 2L said it was very nice he also drove the 3L but off road. Anyway he got chatting to the Experience Guys about off road rear recovery, Apparently they are working on a bolt on addition/accessory that will allow proper off road recovery.
Shame it wasn't designed into the car from the start of development.

Interesting hen at the factory we were shown a fixed to chassis rear recover point very similar to D4. It was under the rear plastic trim

Owners manual also shows front and rear recovery points, with or without tow bar.

It's only cars with the electrically deployed tow tow bar that has screw in ones.

My RRS2 has the screw in recovery eye, looks like cast stainless steel but might be something cheaper ......... anyway as standard you only get one and my dealer couldn't get me a 2nd so you couldn't rig one each end. I also made the mistake of having the optional stainless steel front and rear scuff plates which you have to remove to get at the mounting points for the recovery eyes, which kind of negates the reason for having the bash plates............... Best of British Design Rolling with laughter They look nice though................

This was not on the launch cars. Well I could not feel it when I stuck my hand up behind the panel. In all fairness they did say that the cars were pre production so would have the odd bit missing.

That is correct those cars had a lot of "crap fitted" none adjustable front seat belts, but have been told production models have adjustable seat belts at front, cheap plastic trim, but production cars have much better spec plastic etc.
the pre production cars are all due to be scrapped soon i believe

And a spare wheel anti-theft device from the D3 guys to make it less attractive to scrotes who collect spare wheels from unsuspecting D5 owners.............

Spare wheel is in the same place as D3/4 so no issues when off road.

Uncle Ray will be having my car to sort out the anti theft device.
