2022 Discovery SDV6 HSE Lux Santorini Black

Trying to get my O2 sim to work in the Discovery...

Just upgraded my home broadband/TV package, and it came with a free O2 sim with unlimited calls/data. I wanted to put the sim in my Discovery, so the kids can hotspot to it from their ipads on long journeys...

Just put it in, and I briefly got a 4G symbol in the corner of the screen, and then that disappeared, to be replaced with a message in the settings menu saying "sim card not supported"... Any ideas?

Could it be that it's a 5G enabled sim, and that doesn't work in a 4G device? Any other options?

I tested the sim in an iPhone first, and it was providing data with no problem....

If you can help, thank you! Else I'll call those folk at O2!

Is there a difference? This isn't my area of expertise!

Nor mine! However I have a vague recollection of this coming up before.

Maybe a phone SIM doessome initial communicating with the phone on start up?

Turns out that was the issue - needed a pure data sim, not a voice/data sim. Have cancelled it now with O2. Useless upgrade, so I'll save the money! They wouldn't give a pure data sim as part of the deal....
