    Facelift steering wheel retrofit

    Hi all, seen plenty of videos of people upgrading (trying to) the steering wheel controls from an early Disco V to the newer touch sensitive "Pro" variant. Looks like, for just the switch replacement, you need a small loom adapter.

    However, what about swapping the entire wheel? Is that possible?

    Check out powerfuluk.com ....I think they tried it.....they have you tube videos.??

    They only swap the button modules over, and only side lights up. If doing this, you need a special loom. I want to know if swapping the whole wheel over solves that issue.

    I'll be honest, this is one of the lowest volume forums I've seen in a long time. No one willing to try and retrofit anything meaningful.

    Shame. It dies highlight the death of the JLR brand overall though.

    Whilst on the topic of steering wheels, does anyone know if it's possible to swap say a 2019 steering wheel over to the new, smaller version seen in the brand new Discoveries please?

    Lucero.. The reason no one is trying retrofits is beacause the vehicles specialist syrtem just about makes it impossible without having the ability to reprogramme. The cost of software and hardware and logon is not really within the domain of the typical D5 owner.DIY is therefor restricted to service/maintenance and cosmetic items.
    3.0 HSE. climate HUD active diff. elec towbar. FBH and timed climate.Capability plus pack.split TV. surround sound. Intelligent seating. adaptive lights, wade sensing. 360 cameras.pro pack.cooler.advanced tow, auto park,activity key+ more!!!!
