So the D5 is either unpopular or exclusive? I guess it depends if one is buying or selling as to perspective.
It an interesting article by Forbes, painting a picture of a business slow to grapple with the market and the challenges therein. Shame as they are great cars.
The only reason they're not selling any is they aren't making any.
The whole Disco 5 never sold well thing is just a myth. LR's own sales figures show that until the facelift and when Covid hit, you'd be hard pushed to see where the D4 ended and the D5 started...
Production for the pre-facelift stopped around the time Defender production was starting. Then never really got going properly thanks to Covid hitting soon after. Since then LR have focused almost entirely on the Defender as a lot of cars have huge specs and price lists. They've done the same to the Discovery Sport as well. It started to pickup, then project reimagine started and they cut its legs off!
If no-one wanted D5's then they'd be a bit easier to find 2nd hand and they've been few and far between since 2020 ...
Chip shortages are still causing problems and the Defender being the overwhelming sales leader means they're prioritizing what they can get for Defender production.
It's pretty quiet on here because Discos that aren't 4cyl Ingeniums generally seem to be pretty reliable....
