  Buzzing noise

  My car has developed a buzzing noise that runs for a 30secs or so on tickover…then just stops with an audible click.
  
  Any suggestions as to what it might be ……..and if something is preparing to die?
  
  Doesn’t seem to have any bearing on performance and is not noticeable when driving due to noise level. It occurs not just on start up but coming to a standstill after a journey.
  
  Not heard it in previous years motoring…..something else to wait with trepidation to go wrong???
