    Ex-communicated

Looks like we have been ex-communicated from the D3 forum as all D5 posts are now locked and cannot be accessed.

Not ex-communicated at all, more like the thread was not really achieving anything but bad feelings.

That would be my view. I got no warning so can't offer any more info.

Personally I think it's a shame. For me the D5 is the natural progression from the 3/4. It's taken a while, but now I've seen them in the flesh, I still can't think of any other car I want for my daily driver.

Despite LRs marketing, it's not exactly 'All New', there are plenty of common areas, engines and gearboxes for a start, and there is a lot of technical information over there that is very relevant.

I left school 36 years ago, but sometimes I wonder!

I liked reading the info and seeing the pics of people's new D5's on that D3/D4 forum thread and although AndrewS' thread got locked out first it does seem a bit odd that the whole section is locked. I understand that there is this new forum but we've managed without it with the Fullfat and RRS. I don't have a D5 but an RRS but have had 3 D4s, an L405 and now on our second L494 but have liked reading all the forums.

    L322 to L405 had similar grumblings....hope it's only temporary.

    Thumbs Up

Well that's really sad too hear if that's the case !!

Mind you the D5 has still got the LR DNA running through it.

Plus the D3 owners should be happy as if it was not for the D3, the D4 and D5 would never have seen the light of day. That's a proud achievement in itself. Thumbs Up

Am on another car and bike forum as well, and as much as we have a laugh, I have never encountered any negativity or dare I say it jealousy from other forum members ever. We may slag each other but it's friendly banter. All help each other out as much as possible if any issues crop up or if we have too borrow a specialist tool or need a spare part that someones got lying about, (just like my mate borrowed my spare exhaust for his mot as he had de-catted his one which would have been an mot failure due too emissions.) Lots of useful hints and tips, it's like a school day everyday. In fact just like on here the guys are a really friendly bunch of chaps with a sense of humour Thumbs Up

Plus if your a. TRUE LR enthusiast you would appreciate all of their cars. Yes I agree some not as pretty as others but they all herald from the same fold. So if your slagging one your slagging your own car as well.

Seems all the negativity is from the armchair pundits who specialise in talking cobblers about something they think they are experts in. A bit like the ones who sit in the pub talking Censored

Well seems like someones spitting the dummy out the pram. Rolling Eyes

Just tried to post on a D5 thread on the D3 forum and realised whats happened. Really think this is a shame if it is permanent, yes there are some that just seem to want to provoke and wind people up but they will get bored eventually if ignored.

Personally I would like it to be all one forum. The FullFat forum caters for the L322 & L405 perfectly well so why cant the Discovery forum Rolling Eyes

I locked the forum as I have been away over the weekend and could not get on the forum to deal with all the bickering.

It is a D3/4 forum where most of the recent moderator activity has been on D5 threads. That's not been acceptable.

I have twice asked for calm, and been ignored by a small number who seem determined to stir things up. That's not been acceptable.

I will be leaving the D5 section on DISCO3/4 locked at the moment. I would however love to unlock it - all regular posters and readers know I don't make a habit of doing this - but I not going to accept being ignored and the forum abused in this way.
