Received this Discovery brochure from JLR the other day and noticed the shifter. See anything different? I figure it's either a stock photo mistake or they are implying that Disco may be getting the center console massaging other vehicles have already had.
EDIT: hmm, i may have misspoken here and this is simply the Discovery Sport interior they are showing and were mixing models in the mailing.
Am I the only one that still ends up in Neutral every now and then instead of D of R with the new shifter? Apart from the quick nudge to do between D and S which I do like, the old Rotary one was much preferred.
As far as I know there is no interior refresh coming soon. The next big step will be the change from D5 to D6, but everything seems very up in the air as to when(if?) that will be and what direction it will take.
I have got a 17 plate with the rotary dial and I really like it other than when shunting between forward and reverse while turning around too reverse a trailer sometimes you go to far and end up in park.
I have the new shifter in a RRS and never get the wrong gear, however the shifter in our old L494 RRS was a blooming nightmare and was always ending up in neutral at which point you would rev the nuts off it thinking it was in gear.
But by far the best is our old disco 3 with a lever that actually moves and stays in place so you always know what it's doing
