    Loire Blue D5

Only because I'm bored. waiting.... waiting.... you all know how it goes

Does anybody have any pics of the D5 in Loire Blue. I have seen the pimply guy (no offence) reviewing the D5 at the vineyard. It looked pretty dark but it was on dusk, so hard to really see.

I have also seen the EURO crash test and the Loire Blue one that gets destoyed looks really nice in that light.

And no one answered me on would you keep seats folded down now its so easy to do it from the drivers seat. I'm not feeling the love guys.

We had a Disco Sport Loire blue demo. It is very very dark over here in the UK unless it's one of those rare sunny days. When we had a similar coloured BMW it tended to show the blemishes quite a lot.
I think there's lots of new colours work exploring but if you want blue that's pretty much your only option.

When I'm not in the operating theatre, I'm mountain biking, spending time with my family, running and socialising. I have a Discovery 5 HSE Lux with pretty much every option ticked. This is my first ever Land Rover. Been a rocky road with regards to reliability but we're getting there.

    Hey Doc,

was a last minute decision with a bit of spite thrown in. Re dealer had put me in a bad mood. I have been looking at plasti dip and vinyl wrap.. as alternatives.

All hangs on what it looks like when i eventually get it.

I do like the below pic

The artists impression doesn't look like Loire.
The photo's with the sun on look really good.

Hi Lee why don't you look at getting a ceramic glaze put on your car. I have already prebooked mine. (Similar too the glaze on your tea mug). Hardwearing and protects car paint from allsorts. Plus retains that deep gloss the car originally came with. Alot easier too clean in future, plus 7 year guarantee with the treatment I am going for. Thumbs Up

I like the sound of a ceramic glaze. What does that cost?

Hi Craig i put a post up of the Orange First Edition a few weeks ago, which is where am getting it done. I think it's £350 for the glaze, Crystal Serum Black. It has too be applied professionally as it bonds too the car paint and if messed up has too be sanded off. Luckily these guys are professionals so best left in their safe hands. Also a special wax is applied over it too seal it which is £150 odd and lasts 2 years. Basically I want a deep gloss showroom shine as I dont have the time too spend all weekend washing the cars, plus blacks a nightmare for swirlmarks, so I think this is the safest bet. Car can be normally washed afterwards and no danger of scratches. Just a snowfoam and rinse should be sufficient in future, plus frees my weekends up Thumbs Up Laughing

Go onto Gtechnics website and you can read up and see the videos Thumbs Up

Forgot too mention the car is kept for 4 /5 days as needs time for the glaze too set plus they give it a proper wash, snowfoam, detarring, rust removal and clay bar, not too mention dried with hot-air and any imperfections sorted before putting the glaze on.
Basically it has too be mint paintwork beforehand Thumbs Up

Welcome mate no problems. Will put a video up once cars done. Guys fully booked until mid June, as usually I get cars done as soon as I get them, plus already had too cancel 2 times as was booked in for March 1st /2nd initially. Plus if there is a problem with the car and I have too reject it within 28 days it seems a safer bet too wait till the 28 days are up and then get the car glazed. Already had 1 customer who spent 1 k getting his brand new Mustang fully treated only too reject the car as the engine failed within 28 days. OOPS Shocked

    Hi Road Runner,

I have never heard of Ceramic coating.. I got side swiped when at the dealer a month or so ago with Paint protection and interior protection and tinted windows of which of course I said yes.

Its permagard. I don't know a lot about them but from what I saw it looks the goods.

Some of the ceramic Coatings are very good I have had it on my last 3 Discos, for the current one the firm applying the coat insisted on the car being transported to them straight off the transporter with no prep so they could prepare the paint and apply it then ship it back to the dealer for PDI etc. Its been superb 18 months in and the car looks like new with a simple wash.

Things to watch out for once you have it... Alloy wheel cleaner can strip it off the wheels. If you have it valeted tell the company doing it so they can consider it in their process and not go at the paintwork with a DA Polisher and heavy pad. Make sure you use recommended Tar remover as some of the usual ones can strip it.

In my mind I'm ordering a 3.0 HSE Lux in September for approx Feb 18 delivery Twisted Evil (unless I can get my hands on a Velar between now and then!).

My son's nursery fees almost halve in September so that'll offset the difference - a fine example of man-maths!!!!
