Hello all. Disco 5 newbie here. I seem to have two aerials on my newly purchased 17MY Disco 5 (a Sharkfin at the back and a standard whip aerial halfway along the car roof.
The whip aerial isn't standard, the sharkfin one is... the whip aerial, besides perhaps being DIY fitted by a previous owner for a CB radio or something... I've no idea why it might be there. Are the cables for it drilled through the roof or is it just a stick on with the cables just run across the roof and down one of the A or C pillars?
I had a CB radio in my D4 but I had the mount for the aerial on the roof rack and ran the cables down the inside of the A pillar clip on moulding then into the car behind the dash... never heard of anyone actually drilling a hole in the middle of the roof to fit a whip aerial...especially not on a D5.
I'm prepared to be corrected by someone who may know better of course...but I haven't yet seen a D5 with a whip aerial in the middle of the roof. My '17 plate HSE has a double panel panoramic glass roof with a broad cross member in the middle of it, is yours similar and I take it the whip aerial is fitted there?.
