Both he and his brother run the farm now that I'm officially retired...if there is such a thing for old farmers. I'm just the shouty old bloke who turns up at lunchtime and tells them they're doing it wrong
I was over in the next field with the baler and saw it happen... hence the photo. No matter how many years you've spent in agricultural college or how many years you've been a farmer...we've all got the T-shirt for that one...
...Except we don't usually leave the cab rear window open when we fire up the spreader. He earned that very special T-shirt all on his own

Something similar happened to me when I was a teen. I was using a slurry tanker and it stopped spraying so I went to check the spout and released the spout before I had released the pressure.. I was covered head to toe and worse I had to drive about 3 miles home.
When my family had stopped laughing they hosed me down.
