Idiot Question
This is my first Land Rover and i have seen this a few times and disregarded it but now I want to know. What does MY stand for. (I can guess) and what does L462 stand for.
My thoughts are if I'm asking someone else probably wants to know but is too afraid to ask or I'm just the only dumb bunny here. Thinking the Latter but don't care.

L462 is a JLR model code.
MY is model year - this isn't calendar year or registration year - and is shown in position 10 of the VIN.[/list]
Now: 19MY Velar D240 HSE R-Dynamic
On order: 20MY Discovery SD6 HSE w. Dynamic pack

Hi,
MY is an old convention based on the Earls Court Motor Show in London which was around Oct/Nov each year.
At the 1966 show the 1967 MY cars would be on show.
It got even more confusing when new registration letters moved from Jan 1st to Aug 1st to try and boost sales, IIRC "E" was a 7 month year!
Now it's even worse with 2 new issues of registrations each year(1st March & 1st Sept).
