    Rotary D5 knob

I posted this on landroverforum but disco5.com.uk may be more responsive to a D5 problem.

Upon starting my 2017D5 Lux, the rotary response knob lights up the various terrain programs willy-nilly. They continue to flash and won’t shut off even after double locking the doors. I have to plug in a charger to keep the battery from going flat overnight.
Coincidentally the steering wheel heater switch doesn’t light nor work.

I checked all the fuses at the passenger dash fuse terminal as a leaking windscreen blew a few fuses several years ago.

Any ideas besides a microprocessor going bad?

    Thanks
    Ron

Check the earth terminal in the battery tray at the rear in the battery compartment. This terminal has been known to go bad, causing battery drain issues. There was a recall in the UK, not sure if it was global.

Yep, checked the earth connections, there are two at the battery. Both look good.
Even disconnected battery for a reset but the lamps continue to flash and don’t shut off.
Checked the fuses at the battery, they look OK.

I remembered I have an extended warranty by Zurich which expires in March.
Maybe it’ll pay off the $4K I paid. Never had to file a claim.

    Thanks
