Disco 5 L462 full workshop manual.

Found this online from JLR Workshop

Worth a tenner? Anything that gives a pointer with referencing how to do stuff is good in my book...

I've paid the required few quids and downloaded the PDF file...apart from being a pain to search and find anything if you're unsure of where it is and what heading it comes under...it's fairly comprehensive with almost impossible to decipher step by step 3d illustrations with green and purple highlighted bits... In a pain in the butt PDF style.

Worth a try out if you're a DIY with the spanners kinda person and don't mind fiddling around with PDF files though. Covers the removal and installation process of just about every part of a D5 from boot to bonnet....Like a Haynes 'Book of Lies' on very weak steroids.

Will probably give this a go. Something similar was done on the Fullfat forum a few years ago. If its the same as that was its just someone subscribing to topix for short while, downloading everything then illegally selling the info.

that said, for a tenner…. Bit of a no brainer.

With claims to cover up to 2024, I thought I'd be the sacrificial lamb...and, oh boy, how they slaughtered me. Laughing

    2017MY coverage only, chaps.

Looks like a day on Topix saving hundreds of pdfs for me. Big Cry

Looked around a while ago but couldn't find anyone doing it for the PiviPro post update models. I did download one in Italian from somewhere for the earlier cars, cant remember if I had to pay or not and cant find it now.
I also tried subscribing to Topix for a day but couldn't find any way to easily download large manual sections, only small individual pages that would have been a nightmare to index, so gave up...
If someone did create a full indexed TopiX pdf for the post facelift cars, would certainly consider it worth 10 or 20 quid...

Would not use this as the company has been dissolved.

It's not like they were offering a lifetime guarantee or updates or anything...

It's a lot of documents loaded into a .pdf file, perhaps obtained through someone taking the time and effort to download them from Topix and compile them into a reasonably coherent manual, which has then been resold online to make a bit of beer money.

It's by no means professional software and if the only official workshop manual hadn't been locked behind a ridulously priced subscription paywall in Topix, or if JLR offered the official workshop manual for sale, I'd have completely ignored this amateur hour effort...but since I do all my own servicing and maintenance on my 2017 D5, I wanted a readily available D5 workshop manual for it akin to an old school Haynes book of lies. This was the easiest way to get one.

It's not malware, doesn't stop your PC or your phone working...so nothing nasty...but I wouldn't be expecting a refund if it stops working. Whistle

Yes, but it does specifically say '2017 -2024' 'All engines covered' and it only actually covers 2017MY and those engines - all other years and models are out the window.

So not nasty for 2017MY owners but lots of tenners from every other mug like me Laughing

Ach...a bit of 'creative' eBay style online advertising. Whistle

It should cover all pre-facelift models reasonably well for most basic tasks tackled as a home mechanic. I can't imagine many folks on here would be stretching to an engine lift or anything too bothersome. As far as I can tell, a good proportion of D5 owners don't even have access to any form of mildly competent diagnostic software, like an IID tool or similar.

That said, for a tenner, this amateur hour compilation of Topix subjects is nowt more than a rough guide to where most bits are hidden and how many bolts there are to take it off on a D5 between MY2017 and 2021, as such...and as long as that's understood, it's still a handy reference.

To be fair, I really can't see that many 2023MY or newer D5 owners ever reaching into a Tesco's bag filled with odd sized spanners to do a bit of basic maintenance. They have warranties for that kinda nonsense, not to mention keeping up the dealer servicing record until the car is sold at 7 or 8 years old to the likes of me.

So, even though I'm reasonably competent with all my shiny tools in the workshop on the farm, I'd still more than happily pay good money to have a decent workshop manual on the shelf to help maintain my own slightly modern car...but with JLR quite content to paywall access to a confusing, piecemeal and particularly vague online manual behind expensive subscriptions to Topix, that's not happening anytime soon. Wink

It's not the maintenance I am interested in...Topix explains the technical detail and principles of systems and how they work.

Anyway, its only a tenner as you say ...maybe you have shares in them Whistle Wink Laughing

Good grief, no! I'm way too old to be an internet bad boy selling dodgy software for beer tokens. Laughing
