Finally did my service
I had got all the stuff to service my car a month or so back. Got to do it yesterday as it hit 5000 from it's last service, which was done by a Land Rover indi.
It seemed strange to me that the service indicator was saying 2600 miles to next service, but guessed they just hadn't reset the service indicator.
So while the oil was emptying, which was really black, and quite watery compared to the 5w30 C1 i put back in, i decided to replace the 2 air filters. To my surprise the passenger side had been creased up when whoever fitted it did the job. Leaving a substantial gap which was full of leaves. This filter was a Fram filter, i vacuumed the leaves out and fitted a Bosch filter then went onto the drivers side. This side was fitted properly but still full of leaves, and was a land rover filter. I know it doesn't make a difference, but i would have thought an indi would have fitted the same make both sides. I then fit a new Genuine oil filter, filled it up with oil fitted a pollen filter which the old one looked about 5 years old. Car is now quieter and running smoother. I checked the oil filter for glitter and that was fine, nothing to worry about, reset the service indicator and the oil dilution indicator. Now showing 16000 miles to next service, but it will be done in 5000 miles.
