Spent an interesting morning at LR Experience Centre London (well, Luton) today. They were quite happy to accept a voucher that was a little over three years, and when I mentioned I wanted to drive a Discovery, there was next to no lead time to wait, even for a weekend.
Chatting to Tony, our instructor, hardly anyone takes the Discovery out. As you'd expect, it's all Defender and RR bookings that dominate.
We were there on the 15th, and the Discovery had last been out I think he said on the 3rd.
Sad, for such a capable car.
Still, really don't like this colour. Seemed to change in the sunlight, sometimes it looked red, others brown.
Luton also not a patch on the Solihull site (especially when it's been so dry), as I knew it would be, but I really couldn't be bothered to drive all the way up to the Midlands on a Saturday morning. Think I'd done the Donington site about 15 years ago, and that was a bit better too.
What I really enjoyed from the day was showing my son (12, in the back watching) what the family car could do. Tony was also great - determined to show me some things about my car I didn't know, and he succeeded several times over. Top guy, really enjoyed our chat!
