Resetting Tire Pressure Warning
Hi guys. I've got 5,000 km on my Disco5 and loving it. I've been meaning to provide an update (Spoiler Alert: It's been essentially flawless).
But I'm trying to resolve something and need your help. I have my tires on the low end of air pressure because it's been off-road regularly. The other day the low tire pressure warning came on, and I don't know how to rest it. The manual says I need to go into Tire Pressure Settings and change the setting from 'Normal' to 'Light'. But my Disco5 does not show that option. Any suggestions??

No, I've usually tried just after starting the car or shortly after a drive. Why, are you saying the dash screen gives me different interface options depending on when I last drove?!

So options are unavailable whilst engine is running, for example ad blue & distance to next service.
Was wondering if the same re tyre pressure settings?

Hi all,
my D5 has the TPMS system showing all my tyres are low! Seems to have happened since the weather here got colder and now its warmed up again it hasn't reset itself! Its also something my wife's Discovery Sport does too.
So another trip to the local dealership if I can't somehow reset it myself?
Incidentally theres no issue with the tyre pressure, checked them all with a professional tyre pressure gauge, they are exactly what they should be for a light load and that what i've set mine to! I'm guessing the the air changes density when the weather gets colder and that causes the warnings, but with a car costing so much, you would have thought they'd have thought of that!
Not another software fault surely!?!?

Hi,
To see the TPMS figures, recommended and actual, you need to turn on the ignition. I.e. Press the start button without pressing the brake, That will allow you to access the service menu and both read the tyre pressures or change the load setting.
If your tyre pressures were at the low end of the range when cold, if the outside (nighttime) temp drops, it can drop out of range and trigger a warning.
Either, run the car to warm the tyres and raise the pressure into range, or put some air in!
This happened a couple of times with ours, but SWMBO now knows what to do!
Scrumps.

I've added air to my tyres, upped the pressures by 1 PSI. So my light load tyres are now 38PSI at the back and 35PSI at the front (recommended settings are 37 and 34PSI).
Hopefully this will help, but we will see. At the moment I don't have any fault showing, but the UK weather is up and down at the moment, so I think we are in for a few days of 1 - 2 degrees soon. Lets see what happens!
