    Nose Load Measurement

    Anyone know how this works. (Its only available with the electrically deployable tow bar). The manual is a little sketchy. How does it differentiate between weight in the boot and whats on the tow ball. All it says is its only available upto 60 mins after deployment. Doesn't say dont add any luggage etc. Just curious.

    I had a quick play and it seems to electrically adjust the towbar (similar to deploying/stowing) to measure the weight, so nothing to do with what you put in the boot.

    Thanks. I suppose thats the only way it could work. I will observe closely next time. However it does seem to introduce another point of flex.

    Once it’s done it’s thing it’s locked back into place. In any case with its high load rating I’m sure it’s designed well.

    Whilst working on my reversing light upgrade I snapped this shot from underneath confirming the 350kg load rating;

    One would hope its designed well but there has been some alarmist posts on the forums. Excessive snaking and the like. My own experiences are that large vehicles overtaking me with the van on cause it to give a little wobble. The D4 was rock steady. However i did also change my caravan at more or less the same time as the car so unsure which one is causing it.
