Door locking question
I have had the car for a year and still keep finding new "quirks". The latest is something Mrs. PDES pointed out. When leaving the car, I give the door a press, the locks click, the mirrors fold and I walk away. However, Mrs PDES told me that she always pushes the button twice as she did with the Evoque. So I tried it and the indicators flashed again and the car bleeped. Now, I can't find any reference to a second push in the online manual so what does the second push do?

Possibly be double locking / dead locking and alarming the car with the double click ??
This is the case with my car which is not a LR.
Single press on the door only locks the car but doesn't alarm it.

Is the right answer. Same as double pressing the lock button on the key fob.

Thanks, I had an inkling but couldn't find the answer. Is there a setting that can combine the lock and alarm with one press?

So I'm guessing it's always best to double tap the lock button then ?

Single press/lock is also good when the car is an a ferry - the motion sensors are not activated.
