Closing vehicle detection - HSE
HSE owners ...I have "blind spot monitoring" ...is "closing vehicle sensing" not part of that any longer?

Is that where the lights start to light up in the mirror and flash quicker until solid if so then I believe so
It certainly is on my car

As far as I know
Blind spot assist and reverse traffic detection are bundled together as part of drive pro pack

Reverse traffic detection is there and works ...that deals with cross traffic \ peds ....what is either missing or not featured is the closing detection as Russell describes ...it's the flashing light in the mirror prior to going solid.

From memory you can turn it on and off on the panel in between speedo and rev counter

Have you got the symbol on the mirror, it can be seen faintly although not illuminated, when not in use ? Can be seen from inside the veh.

Yes I had it on the D4 so I know how it's supposed to work
....blind spot and cross traffic is there and working..just trying to establish from those with an HSE if closing traffic is included or if its a fault

Rich, on mine the symbol in the wing mirrors just lights up if somethings is coming alongside you. Sometimes it works well, sometime not. I don’t rely on it to be accurate so always use my own eyes.
Only flashes when you indicate before start an overtake manoeuvre when the symbol is already lit to warn you.
Not particularly impressed with it, especially on the passenger side. It mostly stays unlit even with undertaking traffic or when passing a car on the inside lane.

Oh, sorry, I thought you were trying to establish if you had it or not.

No worries
..Simon it appears that it's not included in that case, I found it useful on the D4 but it's not a replacement for eyes

Maybe not. My D4 didn’t have it (MY11) and this system is pretty much not to be trusted. So yes. Eyes rule. As they should TBH.

I had it on 2015my and although no substitute for eyes, I found it was nevertheless useful for attracting your attention ....IMO just blind-spot monitoring on its own is too late as the passing vehicles are already alongside.
