    Dog guard

Has anyone fitted a Travall TDG1541 dog guard

Is it easy to fit and remove
Does it prevent scratches on top of rear seats when dog climbs on the guard
    Is it heavy ?

    Cheers

I have one of those. Nice bits of kit

Sadly my Staffie would damage it with his bear claws. Would only take one jump up to damage it.

I have the Travall dog guard.
Been very pleased with the Travall guards on my last 4 cars - this one is no different.
    No - its not heavy.
Two thumb 'screws' at the bottom,
Two thumb 'wheels' at the top.

The one thing I found is that you have to make sure the top screws are correctly seated - if not it rattles a bit.

You are correct about the top screws. They rattled as supplied by Travall
Seems the retaining bolt is over 1 inch too long, and the threaded part is too short, so you
are unable to do them up tight enough to pick up the slack ( run out of thread )
Had to pack mine out with a over size bolt / washer to compensate for the over sized bolt and too little thread

    No rattles now Smile

    Dog protection

I've got 3 dogs. 2 of which are 40KG so needed space (hence the Disco).

Protecting the space/ car / dogs is of course the challenge.

I've therefore used a British company called www.hatchbag.co.uk

Pretty happy with the results. Added the internal load net to the side and rear divider also plus the Landover rubber matt to secure it all in place

As you can see I have the Landrover loadnet also. Its fine but doesn't cover the full width and as such with 2 dogs that have slobber, the rear seats are getting dirty still. I still want to be able to use the 7 seats occasionally. Has anyone used the Guardsman dog guard vs the Travali one and if so how easy are they to remove and re-fit please?

I have the "Loadspace partition full height - VPLRS0374" fitted but it rattles at the top. The purple sections are spring loaded into the frame and are loose:

Anyone got any ideas of how to stop the rattle? It would pretty much be a permanent fixture in the car but it might be good to be able to take it out still. We have 2 Retrievers and a Weimaraner pup joining the pack early September.

    Thanks
    Ron

The rattle is fixed, it is the purple sections in the above post that rattle where they connect to the side of the interior / roof. I used a 3cm section of plastic tubing and wrapped it around the metal, No more rattle! I'll tidy it up replacing the clear tube with some black rubber and cut a bit shorter so it is less obvious,

I am planning to get the Guardsman guard with the divider ( I've had dividers before and find them really useful).

Has anyone had a Guardsman ? Are they okay ?

Does anyone know if the LR half height dog guard or the travail or guardsman ones allow the third row of seats to be deployed while it's in situ?
    cheers

I've got the Guardsman (have used Travall guards in the past but thought the Guardsman for the Disco 5 was slightly neater) - I'm very happy with the fit and finish and much cheaper than the LR original Wink

You can position the divider flexibly across the most of the width of the dog guard and you can lower any of the second row with or without either the guard or divider Thumbs Up
