    Mark can you do a front to back back picture looking down the side so we can see how far the steps stick out from the side of the car to protect the doors.

    They are 150mm wide which equates to 100mm from the door they do protect the door unlike the Landrover ones I saw at the dealer.

    Will try to do a picture but won't be today as it is raining cats and dogs at the moment.

    Side Steps

    Brought these from direct 4x4, they are the OEM type and came with very strong brackets to fit on.

    Price is fantastic, delivery was 3 days, the brackets are heavy and very strong, Great value..
    Also found this video on You Tube showing how to fit.

    Has anyone on here personally fitted aftermarket sidesteps themselves??

    How difficult/tricky was it too do??

    Any drilling required as such??

    What's the cheapest so far, and any preference from one brand too another??

    I bought mine from sidesteps.co.uk as they were the only ones around a year ago.
    Fitted them myself and no drilling required.

    I gather they were straightforward too fit?

    I take it your happy with them?

    Still firmly fixed with no play?

    They look alot sturdier than the LR ones I had fitted too the FE.

    I got my fingers burnt as I bought a cheap set online a few years back for the D3. They shook themselves loose after 6 months and brackets rusted badly over the year, and the rivets popped out.

    I just don't want a repeat performance this time hence asking for advice. Thumbs Up

    Well mine are OK after 11 months, easy enough to fit for 2 persons and seem robust enough.

    l will say again, l got mine from direct 4 x 4, they are the best value, if you look around on ebay and so on, you will see other people have brought from them and just try and charge more.

    I had a look at the post and video earlier.

    Do you have any photos of your steps and were they easy too fit yourself??

    Website was not loading earlier so will have a look now too see what they have on offer.

    Am still undecided too go all black or black and silver too match wheels. Cars all black incidentally.

    Decisions Shocked - any thoughts or preferences ??

    Can you please post up a few photos please if you dont mind.
    I managed too get on the website last night and they have about 12 differnt types for the D5.
    Am not sure if the bright silver finish on some of them will pitt, corrode or tarnish over time though?

    Hmmm... I was planing on fitting side steps, but what I saw in the video looks like to have a huge impact on ground clearance. Shocked
    Looks like about an inch for the steps itself and an additional inch for the brackets that hold them from below. Rolling Eyes
    Can anyone confirm this?
