Is the spare wheel fixed solidly to the car or can you move it around a little when you apply a bit of force?

No it should be immovable if wound up properly

Thanks I thought that would be the case.

I wish I had read this before today
I ordered one of Rays anti- theft plates at the week-end and it arrived this morning.
I have just come inside after spending time jacking the car up ready to fit Uncle Ray's plate and now find that the Land Rover people have been listening to it's customers as I already have a plate in place.
I also noticed something else that was mentioned about the electrical socket in the North to South position not being able to be opened fully to insert the plug. Mine is now fitted East to West as was suggested by a customer on this site.

annoyed.com
so today i was due to collect my D5 HSE Dynamic 3.0.. get a call saying sorry vehicle not released as awaiting recall, parts on backorder...for spare wheel security device.
Rep tells me she has another vehicle still waiting 4 weeks on. LRE wont allow a car to be first taxed with outstanding recalls.
to say i'm pretty annoyed is an understatement.
this was stock vehicle i ordered a few weeks back waited till 68 plate.
not life or death but just leaves you feeling totally cheesed off.

don't say that....i said i'd go and buy my own..
But its a DVLA linked recall so cant be taxed and they are on back order. apparently there's 8 vehicles in dealership that were due for collection this weekend that are been held.
what a crazy situation..
