FAT32 HDD 1TB
Just out of curiosity I connected today a 1TB HDD to the USB port, the car didn't recognise it, but once formatted in FAT32 (max file size 4GB and max HDD size 2TB) it did!
So you can actually have a 2TB HDD in the car with kids movies to keep them happy for a very, very, very long time

Although be aware that it does say
Quote:
NOTES
It is recommended that the USB mass storage device does not exceed 128GB. USB mass storage devices exceeding the maximum recommendation could cause a malfunction of the infotainment system.

i still don't get why they don't support NTFS :/ anyways unfortunately you cannot copy files bigger than 4GB (a single file that size) in FAT32, have you tried formatting it as exFAT? it should still read it and allow you to copy files bigger than 4GB and as a bonus it's also compatible with Mac OS X

Mine wouldn't read an ex-FAT formatted drive. Had to format as FAT32. There was a thread about this in mid 2017 but can't find it now....

And to be honest almost everything can cause a problem with JLR infotainment, so am not too worried about this anymore.

yeah but that's a software you need to buy... if you format something on exfat it'll work on both windows and osx

None of our phones are seen properly by either of the media ports, Even InControl Apps doesn't work !
Only way to play music is via Bluetooth but the system seems incapable of remembering more than 2 phones FFS.

With media ports, you mean the usb and not the hdm ports I suppose? All 4 usb entries should work, at least they seem to do so with me. But first I get the message media corrupt, than I have the put off the screens, put them on again and when the usb you want to use has a pinkishline on top, it is ready to be used... (and mostly it will than come on on the second spot in the media option row)

My car has several phones paired via Bluetooth iPhones and Samsung all can stream music to the car no issue's. The only problem I personally have is the iPhones grab the car before the Samsung
I'm sure I can set my Samsung to be the preferred phone or 1st to pair.
