    Hi Mac,
that's a stunning motor absolutely superb mate. Love the colour and the silver wheels make a brilliant contrast. Am just glad there was not a black wheel option as that would have been too much. I think it needs silver wheels too break it up. Anyhow how's the ride on the 22s?? I was told 20 plus makes the ride harsher. The side steps and mudflaps really finish it off. Any thoughts on car polishes, waxes or shampoos. 👍 😁

Thanks Road Runner. Fingers crossed yours comes soon!!

Credit where it's due mate - stunning car 😁👍
Well rang head office yesterday, dealers getting car delivered today apparently and handover is next Wednesday. 1 week late!!! I feel shortchanged. Dealer not even had the courtesy too phone me with updates since Monday as I asked for a daily update. Takes 2 mins. Am having too do all the phoning. Am so annoyed, plus I won't hold my breath for next Wednesday. Am honestly on the verge of phoning the Subaru garage up and ordering another Forester for my wife instead. - Yes I know it's a come down too say the least but at least she will have her car blub: Big Cry Sad Sad

Bill, the sidesteps are dealer fit only. Just a shade under £1100 if I remember correctly including fitting. There are chrome tubes available for just under 1k but they are more for offroading, protecting the sills or decoration. Not very practical for standing on.

I was going too purchase aftermarket ones like I did for my D4 which I sourced from Australia, but after speaking too a supplier I was told the D5 ones are a pain too fit, taking off sideskirts etc. Plus you need a specialist riv nut tool, and without that you will have a serious problem as I ended up having too buy one especially too fit the side steps on the D4. So I thought what the hell I may as well get the dealer to do all the hard work, plus the steps will come with a 3 year warranty. Also I dont want to damage my side skirts or snap any plastic clips off, so I rather the garage puts them on. I did think they looked a bit flimsy and was worried the rubber may lift over time from the metal base due too water ingress affecting the glue, but after seeing MAC'S photos on here yesterday I decided too bite the bullet and get the genuine LR ones as they really do compliment the car, giving it a minimalistic look, unlike my chunky chrome ones on my D4. Mind you for £250 quid I can't grumble as they have served me well. Thumbs Up
Ps if u want too Duckworths are doing the exact same steps for only £650. My dealer said they will pricematch them, but need too charge for fitting them, which am happy with. Still saving £450 odd quid - that's alot of beer money in anyone's books Rolling with laughter Rolling with laughter Rolling with laughter
Also I got my flaps from Duckworths at a cost of £105 for all 4 including postage. Saved £145 over LR £250 asking price. Simple too fit 3 plastic grommets 5 min job per flap Duckworths said. Smile

    Hi RR

I'm going for the Dealer fit on the side steps for the very reasons that you've outlined now. My Dealer also said that he'd price match Duckworth's.

Seems we are singing from the same hymn sheet Very Happy
    What model you going for??
Not sure how much the labour will be as was told £100 an hour. Am thinking as they have all the tools and ramps will take 1 hour max if that. Unlike me 3/4 hours Very Happy

Your the customer. Ask for a quote, then tell them you want 20% discount as you have just brought a new car.
    You will get 10%

OK I will do, once I get my car, whenever that is?? Sad I did the flaps on D4 myself really simple. Just a case of pulling the inner plastic liner off a bit if I remember correctly, with a few poppers. Mind you hopefully someone will put it up on you tube very shortly. I am already getting a pricematch on the towbar/ electrics and roof rails. Whistle I did ask and labour was £100/105 an hour. Will see what he comes back with figure wise plus am talking the 5 year servicing pack also, so he said will work out a deal.
