Velar HSE D240 - MY19
Served by the excellent Shukers Land Rover of Ludlow - 10 Land Rover’s and 20 years of amazing customer service.
I've got my MY18 booked in next Friday so fingers crossed will get the full update - is the general feeling that I should be pushing to get the CarPlay enabled or should this be done as standard?
I had 18C installed last Friday as art of my first service with my MY 17 HSE Lux. Didn’t go according to plan, having dropped the car off at 0930 to service and upgrade whilst I worked from their showroom, I didn’t get away until 1730 - in a Disco sport as the download file corrupted and they left it to run overnight. Now in a Europe on a road trip - some good improvements with 18C but also not working well with RSE - discs don’t eject and only occasionally play (seem to eject only after turning off, system resets and start up again). Additionally, whilst there is a apple option on Bluetooth, it isn’t CarPlay and I think you need to ask for the additional smartphone pack. With a ratty 11 year old in the back, the car is now booked back in for the RSE issues and I’lol ask for the smartphone pack too this time!
After the last software update here in Canada got the car play and android auto working just fine in 2017 HSE, (18C software). Service "specialist" told me that car play won't be available till 2019, so I wasn't even expecting it to be there.... nice surprise after all. Waze with car play is kind of suck, need to use arrows and hourglass to zoom, not safe at all. And graphics somewhat washed out. LR map looks much more clear on the screen. Spotify works fine, but screens and fonts are not visually appealing as well.
In general 18C has very responsive keyboard and haven't seen any bugs yet. So good work ... in progress.
I had 18C installed yesterday on my '17 Discovery 5 HSE (Germany). No signs of Carplay or "Smartphone Activation". My car only hast ICTP and not Apps (when I configured the car back in the day I could not see the benefits). Either Carplay is only available for cars with ICTP + Apps (even though I see no technical reason for that) or Carplay is not yet available in Germany.
Hello from Brazil !
18D is already available, and fix several issues from the 18C.
I have learned from the release notes of 18D that AA and ACP only can be activated using Pathfinder 95 or earlier
Many thanks for your contributions to this thread. I have been trying to get my dealer to update me to the latest version "18C_5" but they are saying this has not officially been released to them as yet. JLR customer services say that it is available but aren't able to say when each dealer will get this software in order to install it.
Could you possibly tell me which dealership you used? Also, do I need to do anything other than this software update in order to receive Apple Car Play / AA? i.e. Apply the Smartphone Pack Activation?
If so what code would I give them for this?
I have read on various forums:
H157 UPS10018-1
ITCP_4_007_04
SDD 154.05
Do you perhaps know which one I would need them to use?
I would be most grateful for yours or anyone else's input into this...
The software update is available to all dealers in the UK. It is released generally, but each dealer has to update their own diagnostic kit - which is probably what they haven't done.
The update is contained in the Pathfinder Software version 193, the previous version seems to be 191. Once that update is done, then it should automatically request the install of software release 75. Both need to be installed in order to access the Smartphone Activation pack.
Attempting to install the Activation pack will automatically request the install of the latest InTouch Pro version, if it is not already installed.
Fish4funjb, What year is your truck? Did they install the smart phone pac? Did your dealer require any complaints about the previous software version to justify the CarPlay version? Did they charge you for the update? Thanks!
