2017 Discovery Td6 HSE Lux Scotia Grey

Discovery due to dealer on 16th March

My Discovery 5 TD6 HSE Lux in Scotia Grey is due to my dealer on 16th March. Far too many options on the car to list but as far as the kids are concerned, the rear entertainment is most important.
3 kids 10/8/5 and driving down to France at Easter to run the car in.

Thought I would sign up and see what I've been missing.

When I'm not in the operating theatre, I'm mountain biking, spending time with my family, running and socialising. I have a Discovery 5 HSE Lux with pretty much every option ticked. This is my first ever Land Rover. Been a rocky road with regards to reliability but we're getting there.

    Sounds great!

Have you been able to see a D5 in Scotia? I'm about to lock in the specifics for my order and I'm leaning to Scotia with possibly the Glacier interior - the only concern I've got is that I havn't been able to see a photo of one (other than the configurator - which doesn't really help).

    What interior are you selecting?

    Cheers

I haven't seen Scotia on a D5 but I have on the RRS and I really liked it. Went for an all black interior. Three kids under 11 it's the safest option!

Had a call earlier to say that mine will be ready to collect on Friday. I'm please but I'm on call all weekend so doubt I'll actually get to drive it.

Collected last night just as the dealer was closing. Called into work at 4.20am today. Just got home. Still haven't driven it Sad However I got home and the kids were sat in the back watching Trolls! My wife thinks the car is amazing though.
If the good people of South Wales could kindly refrain from requiring emergency surgery for the next 24 hours I would be most grateful, I'd love to have a drive tomorrow and maybe get to take some photos.

It will be interesting to learn if LR has got over the 10 minute rule regarding running the audio without the engine running................... you might not get your drive because the kids have flattened the battery watching the RSE!

Well we went to get a Chinese takeaway and finally got a drive.
    Now I haven't driven a Discovery before so I'm coming from an X5 40d.
The Discovery is very impressive. The headlights are superb. Head up display works well too.
I haven't even started to get used to the gadgets. Park assist seems good.
Seats are very comfortable. Acceleration seems about the same as the BMW.
The car does feel quite big. I think the black alloys might have a difficult life with my wife driving.
I won't really get any serious miles under my belt until next weekend.

As for the read entertainment. I'm not sure, the kids seemed happy watching their film.

How does the HUD compare to the BMW one? The one on my 2014 640D is absolutely brilliant while the single photograph I can find on the land rover web site looks disappointing.

Would love to see a photo in Scotia! If you have an opportunity could you post up a pic for us to see?

    Thanks!

Sorry for the delay, it was a crazy weekend. I ordered the car on 19th October last year and initially I would told it would be at the dealers this coming Friday but it arrived early.
My wife has decided she needed to go to visit her sister in Bristol this morning so I am in the Q5. I will take some photo's and get them online.

Hey no problem, thanks. I bet there is a big difference between the Q5 and D5 though ?? Laughing

    Yeh, the D5 feels huge!
As you can see from my other thread we were looking at Discovery Sport and then Velar to replace the Q5 but went for a Macan instead.
It's interesting because I have had an Audi for several years now and the MMI was always really far ahead of other manufacturers but the Land Rover system seems to be really good.
I've been relegated to the Q5 now anyway.
