Sleeping and waking and draining the battery
The D5 seems pretty power hungry. When I've been sitting in it trying to sort out settings / connectivity etc,, it very quickly comes up with a low battery warning and advises me to switch on the ignition,
When I use the car as a service vehicle on an event, it will be left open all day and the doors constantly opened and shut. Is this going to cause battery drain issues, and if so, does anyone know a way of putting it into sleep mode without waking it up every time a door is opened?
I'll be taking a jump pack, but don't really want to be relying on that and doing accidental hard resets of the system all the time.
TIA
Andrew

I think it will be an issue if the doors are opened and closed repetidly throughout a day without starting.
Is there no way to put it on charge?

Only with a generator brought along only for that purpose, which seems a bit silly.

Honestly I think it will last the day, first it will shut down other features, like the closing of the boot, before it really runs out of juice and being unable to start. If I were you, I would just take starting cables or a portable jump starter if you have it.
In the beginning I had the message quite regularly, maybe because more playing around with the system, but lately it never reappeared again. I do connect it once and a while with a battery charger to better maintain the battery, but this does not change the normal draining of course.
Let us know how it went!

I am taking a jump pack, which is virtually the same thing. I just wondered if there were any hibernation tricks as I suspect just being awake draws a lot.

That would be good. I might just stick a battery conditioner on for a day beforehand and then hope for the best.

There is no sleep more for the car unfortunately. If you are driving the car regularly the battery should be at a good level so sticking it on a battery conditioner the day before will not really do anything. When you just open and close the door the car does wake up but should go back to sleep within a 1-2 mins. If the car is locked it should go to sleep quicker.

I think I will be doing some learning-by-doing. I am not driving it frequently, hence putting a battery conditioner on it. On my D3, it took a lot longer than 2 minutes to enter sleep mode (especially when unlocked), and then someone would immediately feel the need to open it again... I hope it really is 2 minutes on the D5.
