It’s okay. I did think the thinner rear number plate was okay too, I recall asking Guy Salmon about it and they said that LR stipulated it had to be the bigger normal type and couldn’t supply anything else or they be in breach of some LR edict.
Now, to be honest, I am past the point of caring. It is what is is.

Personal preference is still a 'thin' plate I've got, the way Gerry intended. Really not keen on the big fat long plates so many dealers seem to insist on.

Thanks, yes, agreed, its a matter of personal taste, but having seen some re-worked centred plates I really don't like them either.
As you say, anything but those dreadful things dealers have to put on
