    2019 Discovery Sd4 (240) HSE Loire Blue

    Aussie MY19 HSE SD4 arriving soon

    So I placed my order back at the start of November 2018.
    I’ve just had the update today of the latest delivery date and the ship she is on.

    It’s been a bit of a long emotional journey, hence I’ve hesitated to post this.
    I’ve been on this forum since late last year and I’ve learnt so much, so thanks to all.

    When I placed the order the delivery date was 9th March.
    (My previous car a pathfinder lease ended in 20th March.)
    Then in January it became 24 May Sad
    The before Easter it was 12 June. At least the build completed was 25 March.
    I now have the ship name and it’s half way through a 33 day sail from Hamburg to Sydney currently rounding the bottom of Africa. Due in port on 17th May.
    Due at the dealer 31st May, estimated handover 5th June.
    (5th June is my wife’s birthday, I’ve been told that in no way does this constitute a Birthday present)

    I’ve had a great sales experience by Alto at Artarmon. I ended up trading my 5year old pathfinder with Alto and I’ve had a discovery sport as a loan car since the 18th March. So full credit to them looking after me. The delay in the delivery is frustrating but all on LR as I’m sure that switching to Nitra was a big part of the delay.

    So the spec of the new love in my life:
    MY19 HSE SD4
    Loire Blue
    Ebony seats / interior (standard seats not Windsor)
    Ebony headlining
    Dark Satin brushed aluminium trim
    7 seats
    Heated and cooled front seats
    Privacy glass
    Black roof rails
    Default HSE 20” wheels
    360 surround cameras
    Capability plus pack

    Only a few weeks to go...
    I’ll keep you posted plus pics when delivered.

    That's exciting news Gavin. Are you tracking the ship so you can call the dealer the day after it arrives for a pick up date? I did, or maybe I have them 3 days. From memory delivery was about 2 weeks after arrival at Port Kembla.

    Yes I’ve been tracking the ship.... serious tech geek here with a history of intel in the RAAF.
    Let’s just say I’m on the case 😉

    The due date at the dealer is 2 weeks after the ship docks in Sydney, so based on your experience maybe they have a little buffer built in.

    I was talking with the dealer today to make sure everything is running smoothly, finance sorted etc.

    If you’ve seen a little white and black HSE disco sport cruising down Galston Rd.. Hi that’s me.

    After delivery will definitely need to get a side by side photo in of our two,

    That one will be easier to spot, Thumbs Up There are quite a few Sports around but all one solid colour.

    Windsor Leather isn't standard on the HSE in Aus?

    Hi Mordred,
    no its not.
    A number of differences. The other big notable one is the standard roof in Aus is flat metal.
    I think in the UK it's fixed panoramic.

    Interesting, esp as its damn expensive over there (not exactly cheap in the UK)

    You're right, in the UK it has the 2 fixed glass panels (which i wish opened on mine, such a tease being there and the original owner didn't spec the £300 extra opening roof)

    Indeed, it includes "Australia tax". Then there's luxury car tax on top of that.

    Same here, they have been great. Twice, once for the D4 when I too traded in a Pathfinder (R51).
    Alto prepares cars for delivery at their Mt Kuring-gai facility. So it will be very close before it is off to Artarmon for delivery Smile

    We frequently do our RFS training up there.
