    Hi Roadrunner
Can you let us know how you got on fitting the "Duckworth flaps" please ..... will buy if easy Smile

    Hi Peter.
after Russell sent me instructions for the flaps, I have decided that the garage will fit them. Apparently what Duckworth's forgot too tell me was that you have too drill a hole in the rear bumper 😞. As I have fitted flaps myself on D4 and FL2 and on all my 3 subaru sti's I have never had to drill holes in the rear bumper. I think i will let the garage sort it, plus they will have alot more experience doing it judging by the amount of D5s in the workshop last week. Plus they have all the specialist tools, and if they make a mess if it they can fix it. Also like Russell mentioned once flaps are removed they leave holes in the bumper. Not happy drilling holes in a brand new car so will leave it too the professionals. Laughing

Roof bars don't need headlining removed they are easy to fit have the instructions if you want
As for side steps there will be some quality ines out very soon that will provide protection to side of car as I am going to York Monday to have car laser scanned so the company can start to produce products Whistle Thumbs Up
    Watch this space

    Hi Russell,
Duckworths said they were a pain too fit and suggested garage does so incase water leaks into the headliner as well. I was assuming that part of the liner had too come off too tighten the bolts. OOPS.( I replaced the original roof bars on my D2 with the thicker ones years ago, so the headliner had too come off too tighten the new bolts.) Apologies for the wrong information guys!!! Hmmm next time I should maybe read the instructions before sharing my words of wisdom, that's if I can find them in the first place!! Sad

Sorry when you meant protect the side of the car, do you mean that you don't need the rubber protection strips on the bottom of the doors. The strips sit really low unlike the D4 ones, plus look ugly and not too mention the cost. Also as your fully aware the doors on the D5 are huge. I was toying with the idea of the strips, but thought that the side steps would get hit first if someone in the car park opened their door carelessly, hence I never ordered the strips Shocked

Here is a link to the roof rail fittment

    http://accessories-instructions.landrover....y/G2011166

The new steps will be like the D4 ones in the sense they will stick out further than the body work not like the new genuine D5 ones which don't. If you then set the car in off road height in car parks the side steps will get hit first and the body work wont
Not sure how long they will be before in production but i am driving up early Monday morning to get the car laser mapped to allow the company to design and start to make them

Namib Orange 1st Edition with black roof and wheels.
Privacy, tow bar, drive pack, surround camera, heated front & rear seats, auto dim door mirrors, side steps, remote Pro, RSE, arm rest fridge dash cam front and rear.

Thanks for the instructions Russ, much appreciated. Thumbs Up Ah ok, makes sense putting it in offroad mode in the carpark, as I did think that in normal mode that other saloon car doors will still be able to dent the doors Sad
Great stuff am looking forward too an alternative as the original ones do look a tad flimsy and quite shallow, compared to the ones I had on the D4

Yes am sure they will be sturdy and less expensive. I had chunky ones on the D4. Cost me £250. They were solid Thumbs Up

    Sorry RR,

I don't agree about the strip being "ugly". We've had nothing but positive comments about these:-

Hey guys, i meant ugly as in doesnt look right sitting so far down, not ugly as in looks wise. Sorry I think i should have used the phrase LOOKS OUT OF PLACE instead !!

Anyway I like your ones Scrumps. Matches your wheels and front wing vent, so i have now changed my mind and bitten the bullet after you kindly posted your photo up, cheers mate Thumbs Up Laughing

I have black roof rails and my sides vents are black also, so not sure what too go for ??

With the silver ones, they will match the silver wheels or should i just go for discrete black ones which will match the roof rails???

Also worried that if silver ones are damaged then will be more noticable because of the black background.

Any suggestions???. Answers on a postcard please too what colour you would recommend on a black car.

By he way Rimmers quoted me £255 Inc vat for black and £265 for the silver ones. LR are £365 for both. Shocked

    Hi,

We were going to go with black but we offered up a set at the Dealers and came to the conclusion that the extra thickness of black at the bottom spoiled the natural line of the black skirts on the bumpers and the sills.

When we offered up the bright set up we found the link between indicators, vents, wheels and the strips
    looked better.

Don't forget the Dealer price includes fitting and 3yr warranty if fitted within 30 days of purchase. If you do it yourself and they're mis-aligned you'll be mildly miffed I would think!!

Hi mate, am not sure what you mean by the extra thickness of the black ones compared too the silver/chrome ones as I assumed they were both the exact same. Mind you unlike yourself I have not seen them in the flesh. Looks like I may pay a visit too the garage too see for myself what ones are the better option. Just a pity I should have specced silver / chrome roof rails if I had known what you have told me. I am still hedging towards the black strips and hopefully the extra thickness will be camouflaged by the cars black paint fingers crossed Rolling Eyes
