SD6 Oil Level
Not an Oil Dilution issue! I check my oil level every now and then and it is usually at Max. Today it was at the 2/3 point between Max and Refill. I've done about 9000 miles and never had a Disco use oil before. Last checked about 6000 miles and was full.
Any one else noticed their Sd6 using oil?
I'll keep a close eye on it and book it in if it carries on but there is no leak that I can see and no oil smell that usually go along with a popped seal or gasket. The exhaust is still as clean as it was when I got it with no smoke evident but then I imagine the Cat and the AdBlu take most of that out anyway.

My D4 always needed a 1L top up between services for the first 4 years I had it. My D5 is showing half full (8500 miles) but not asking for a top up yet. I'll not be surprised if it needs a top up before it's service.

Hi,
If it's any use as a reference, after 3000 miles on my new SD6, oil level has dropped from full to about 3/4. ( Long journeys, observing the "new engine" guide on driving style)
Interestingly, the car was supplied from the dealer with a full 1 liter bottle of engine oil for top-ups. So maybe that's a indication that it should use some ?

Just for info... Mine is the same.
I have done 6000km, and oil level is around 3/4.

I think most LR's in the early days use some oil and then it settles down - certainly all of the D4's I have owned used oil for about 12k then stopped but it was worse when new and gradually got better or less used if you know what I mean
