    Help needed

    Morning all

I downloaded the latest map update onto the usb stick as instructed.
All seems to go okay for install, car recognises it and begins to update. It’s gets to about 50% and then stops with message “unable to install maps “ please try again or contact dealer......
    Any ideas....?
I’m away on business next week and really need the sat nav to be working?

    Thanks all

    Paul

I would try downloading again just in case the USB has a corrupt file.

What state is the sat nav now, did it not restore it back to the previous version?

I’ve just started the download again, took 6 hours the last time.
Unfortunately the sat nav hasn’t gone back to previous, it just says no maps installed.

That does not sound good, is this your first update or has it worked before? Sad

It’s the first update I have tried......
Followed all the instructions but no joy...
Was a new memory stick too, so not sure what to try next.
Will let this new download finish and try again, if not it’s off to the dealer I guess...

I have just noticed it is now version 98, I only downloaded version 97 a couple of weeks ago.

There was an issue a few months back with one of the versions and HERE sorted in a day or so.

If it does not work this time it may be worth trying in a couple of days, or a trip to to the dealer will be called for.

Not sure if I want to download this version now! Whistle

No problem, thanks for the help.
I will let the download finish and try again.
If it doesn’t work I will try again at the weekend.....

I had the last update tell me to Censored off when I tried to update it along a twisty west coast single track road.

SWMBO wasn’t happy with me constantly pulling in to restart it plus I got it in the neck for doing it anyway as the roads were last modified in the 18th century. Anyway, I down loaded it again and it worked perfectly.

A bit like the lanes in Devon then! Thumbs Up

I sometimes wish they were not on the maps when you meet a grockle following his sat nav down a single track lane and then does not know how to reverse. Rolling with laughter

I assume you are trying to load version 98?

If it’s any help I have version 97 on a memory stick that loaded onto my MY17 HSE with no problems last week. Could first class post it to you, to see if it will wind back an update? PM me if you want to give it a try.
