Thank you for the quick replies, but I am not interested in the complete cover for the entire luggage space, only a cover for the "flap". I have also thought about making my own, but it seems strange that no one has made this. It surely must be a marked for such thing.
really good, covers the whole boot, the fold down tailgate and also has a loading flap that is detachable. it is waterproof looks good. Soaks up interior noise too (unless that is just me). Had it for 6 months and still like new despite getting heavy use.
I have a hatch bag in my D5 and did in previous D4's and D3 great bit of kit, not cheap but good quality
Namib Orange 1st Edition with black roof and wheels.
Privacy, tow bar, drive pack, surround camera, heated front & rear seats, auto dim door mirrors, side steps, remote Pro, RSE, arm rest fridge dash cam front and rear.
To secure it I used 6 wood screws, you should be able to see the one in the nearest corner on the photo,
One in each corner and two in the middle , this avoids getting too close to the area where the wire winds.
I used a fairly small pilot hole, then a much larger drill to carefully make the countersink, I am not sure what the shelf is made of but the screws have gone down very tight.
I have “fitted” mine with help from local engineering workshop who made a 20mm fold on top edge.
Rubbed edge to rid any sharp burrs.
Plate cost under £18 on eBay..1000x300mm a little too small but the
Plate sat there well however I have used some number plate sticky pads to hold it in place so no drills needed . Great if the flap fails to operate under warranty.
Will post photos Wednesday.
