The gesture tailgate opening must have been devised by someone who doesn't have dogs (LR you're out of touch with your users) because they can accidentally open it at the most inopportune moments. For example when you've just poured out eight Bloody Marys on the tailgate and the whole lot shoots backwards into the boot space when one of the dogs walks by. Hilarious actually as it wasn't my car!
