    New Engine

    Oh dear!
3 years old , 27,000 miles and new engine needed!
Purchased February 2019 so within 2 year LR extended warranty thank goodness.
Bad news can’t be fixed until November 2020 and no loaner until then as car is still mobile.....

I’m thinking this is the last LR to own due to long list of no loaners available .
Guess warranty claims are filling up the workshops now.....

    2L
    Low compression in two cylinders
Going back to LR to be examined.

In fairness they have used thousands of these in Discovery Sports and D5s for years with out replacements necessary so I guess I. Just the unlucky one .
The HSE LUX is a great place to be and I do love the cruise experience.

The 2Ltr ingenium is not just in LR (evoke, D sport, D5), its in most of the Jags, so there must be a pretty large number of them out there by now, and I dont think they are any worse than any other manufacturers engines. Even BMW's recent engines seem to have quite a few issues.

    engine failure

Hi all my car is 3.5 years, 2.0L, 40000 miles. Diagnosed firstly with VVT solenoid failure, that fixed the warning light and some but not all symptoms, now told that "loss of compression" means new engine... Sad just out of warranty so dealer says should be goodwill claim but am awaiting confirmation - Shocked have a date booked in but given what have read here will believe it when I see it. Car drives at present, but like a pig...

I’d be careful - ours stopped dead on an A road, no power, brakes, stuck in Park. Dealer offered 80% JLR contribution but asking for 100%. Likely new engine.

    Update
Went in two weeks ago for oil leak, new engine fitted ,collected 12 days later new engine on warranty,
Today Assist collecting to return to MD for loss of Coolant fault.
Really thought New Engine would be the end of the faults but alas not to be Big Cry

    Thanks 🙏
MD are suffering from a huge amount of warranty work and I have heard quite a few “technicians “ have left Helstone Garage Group which puts pressure on bookings.
If their employees are treated like the customers one really can’t blame them.
Really a 5 week wait for a new engine on warranty is a complete disgrace and totally unacceptable having paid £50,000 plus for a used vehicle.
Makes one wonder how much longer the most loyal customers will put up with this situation.
I’m just on the edge of my patience.....
