Fuel economy
Right did a tank to tank fuel economy check in the D5 which has now done 1000 miles
This was over 420 miles mainly motorway with cruise control on doing a steady 75 80 but with some A and B roads. The trip showed an average of 31.4 but actual figure was 30.2 which I was pleased with. The trip meter was fairly accurate and the car is not yet run in I also find cruise control is not very economic so I would think that 35 or more will be easily achievable when run in and not using cruise control.

Difficult to say as it isn't run in but thinking back to the same sort of mileage in the D4 and similar driving I recon this is easily better on fuel by 4 miles per gallon

Reckon you're about right maybe even a little pessimistic
The ffrr did easy 34 at 75 mph pushing 40 at 60mph
Allowing for less drag on the D5 but a little more weight (steel subframes) the
D5 should impress
Gut feel is the 2.0 will not be significantly better

Just averaged 34.5mpg
on a 99.7m round trip.
Mix of urban, Motorway and rural roads.
Stats for last leg of journey were: Distance 46.5 miles / duration 1:41 / avg speed 30mph / efficiency 37.5mpg
Was doing around 75 on the motorway and average speed was low as I hit town traffic in rush hour but with stop/start on etc. Not too shabby I guess.
3.0td6 with 1,600 miles on the clock on 22s if anyone cares.

According to my ones eco data my best trip was 38mpg but the trip computer says 26, that's more like it.

In which case Land Rover need to pulp all the current D5 brochures and fix the typo's in the fuel economy section!
Still don't get how they can have got it so fantastically wrong!
[the brochure quotes up to 54mpg for the 2.0Td4 Ingenium engine on Aero wheels, extra-urban]

It ain't real world testing, this is the problem and it's perfectly legal until it's changed we won't see true accurate figures

I was looking at the XC90 T8 Hybrid which claims 135 mpg, Fuelly.com shows it to be 35 mpg. Only 100 mpg out from real world consumption.
D5 is way better in just about every aspect so won't be looking Sweden's way when I'm ready to upgrade.

What engine?
If that's a full tank of fuel that can only manage 360 miles to a tankful, then.........not so great, is it?!
Even if it was fully loaded up. Strikes me all the new aerodynamics are not worth anything??

3.0l diesel. Was averaging some good speeds and not all flat so not bad. But am a little dissapointed having done same trip in 4.4 L405 and doing better mpg. Maybe will improve once run in. Will monitor on the way back.
