That is a bit early (usually they switch around April/Mai). But on the other hand, why not? MY21 was held up by corona and engine issues so long (amost 9 month), so why not release MY22 a bit early... Question is, will there be changes to MY21 already?

What do you mean by 2022 model?
Are they releasing another update in 2022?

My March 2019 order was a July 2019 early MY20 build. What your dealer says sounds plausible.

There is an EU law starting in 2022 that requires all new cars to have a speed limiter. It is also expected to apply in the UK. They presumably need the MY22 model to be supplied with this before the end of this year.

For existing models it won’t be a requirement until 2024. All new Land Rovers come with speed limiters but I’m not sure if they meet the spec.

I've asked my dealer the question.
If this is the case, and there are spec differences/benefits, then I'm going to be
off that my new car will be out of date before I’ve even taken delivery of it!
A quick scout around the internet doesn't suggest anything, but there may be an element of truth in this because today Land Rover uploaded a new RRS video to their Youtube channel which has "MY22" in the title...

there's no Pivi Pro in that video for the RRS. if that's really the MY22, that's disappointing.
if there is any change for the MY22 D5 over on this side, I'd hope it's ANY diesel option.

I don’t think there’s going to be anything major on the RRS front - think there’s a whole new model due next year.
There might be a change in colours/wheels/options/trim levels on the Disco but hardly likely they’ve spent so much time and effort on a major refresh to make any big changes.

This has always been that way.
J/LR presents new models around March/April, they are order-able from April/May and production lines get switched end of September (beginning of October). You can see the first new ones in November.
MY21 was different bc. of Corona and rumoured engine issues that epicly delayed the MY. So my first reaction was almost the same, until I remembered how this usually works with J/LR.
Greets,

My dealer has confirmed this is happening, but has said:
"Unfortunately we are not told until the day before in a confidential email what exactly is new"
He has tried to assure me I have nothing to worry about, and because the D5 has just had a major facelift (inc engines) then any changes will be minor i.e. colours and removal of the legacy P300 to make a full MHEV line-up, but in my mind if there is anything new that I would have chosen over what I've ordered then I'll be cancelling and re-ordering, and if there are standard/option changes that impact price then I'll be asking for the difference to be made up in my cost.
