Strangely Warranty Direct will cover DPF is under 70k miles and it fails an emissions test, whereas the LR extended warranty won’t.

    Swings and roundabouts.

Good luck with the garage. Thumbs Up

Does it go into 'limp' mode when it happens? Split turbo hose?

    Update
Took the car to StoneLake of Halifax an independent LR specialist on Tuesday, I told him that the car was on red DPF Full warning and there was a fault code Turbo over boost !
He rang me Wednesday am to say the car was done, on collection he said he had replaced the throttle body which was sticking open which was giving the turbo overboost fault which in turn was preventing the DPF regeneration !
He then did a full DPF Regeneration to get rid of the other warning.
Says the throttle body fault is very common and LR have changed the design now to overcome this issue ! The video he showed me shows the flap stuck against the body housing and you can hear the motor struggling to close it Confused
All done on LR Extended warranty so happy days

I think the acid test is do you know if the car has since done an automatic regen?
Until that happens I wouldn’t be confident the problem is sorted.
This is because I have had the same faults. The stuck butterfly and the actual problem is a defective exhaust gas sensor.

    Hey Guys,

I have this same error P0234 overboost condition. Comes and goes. I was told that the diesel engines didn't have a throttle body and that it was automatic. So if there actually is a TB can someone post a pic of its location? Had the same issue with my 4.4 disco 3 but the TB was well documented here on cleaning.

    Thanks

I had the dealer show me where it was as I too thought diesels didn’t have throttle bodies. Modern ones do as part of the EGR system.

On the v6 diesel it’s directly under the engine cover (just pops off with a firm pull upwards). It’s central and has the large diameter air intake hose going into it.
