    Map downloading.

    Some official LR sites state that a Flash Drive/SD Card Personalised to the vehicle is required whilst other official sites state only a Flash Drive/SD card to USB3 and 64Gb capacity is required.

    To update your map, first set up an account using the link provided. When logged in go to ‘Maps & Services’, download the relevant map and transfer it to your vehicle via a USB device. It is recommended that downloads are done to a standard USB device, such as a memory stick (USB 3.0 is best) with 64GB of free storage space.

    Any idea which is true.

    It is actually the first... The USB device is personalised to the vehicle, but this only means that if you download the latest maps for YOUR d5, you cannot use your stick to update the maps on someone ELSES d5.

    You would have to download THEIR personalised memory stick to do their vehicle.

    It is actually the DOWNLOAD that is personalised... The not stick itself.
