Hi
Picked up my First Edition a couple of weeks ago. Having come from a FFRR I'm quite impressed.
Does anyone know if its possible to have the lower flap thing fold down automatically when you open the boot? Or do you have to reach in each time and press the button?
Thanks
David

Hi,
The inner flap folds down if you open the tailgate with the remote or gesture (kick) mode.
If you use the button above the number plate then it stays up till you lower it.
RTFM under "entering the vehicle" and "opening. & closing the powered tailgate" & "Gesture tailgate".

Sorry David,
I have to proof read stuff at work so once through a document I can usually remember what I've seen if not the detail
Had a bad experience of not RTFM once - and nearly wore a £148k bill !!!

Hi,
Tailgate adjusted @ Dealers this morning.
Now sitting marginally "high" if you look at the alignment of the lights ( but I do have mild OCD) however it opens and closes like a dream.

Since I spent most of today looking at the brake lights I can confirm mine is ever so slightly high too. Not enough to make me want to change it though.

Anyone have the problem where the button to CLOSE the boot does nothing? This has happened to me a few times and I've had to use the key fob to close it.

Hi there, yes I've had same problem plus a few other electrical glitches , it went back to the garage and LR sent them updated software which seemed to sort it, it's got to go back in again to get issues with DVD player sorted once the new software for that issue is available.

The Boot getting stuck is a design fault and will be corrected probably by a recall, I saw this guy in the car park with a new D5 so as an owner I was curious as to whether he had experienced the fault and as it turned out he was part of a design team working on that very issue. He said that they are working on it the door just catches slightly so they may change the hinges.

Hi,
Ours was adjusted by the Dealer and now works fine.
There's a TSB about it:- SSM73295 so I doubt it's too major.

Hi All
Picked up the car yesterday. Love it.
Discovered the boot opening issue very soon... Although I have mastered the quick kick gesture behind the rear wheels!
So 9 times out of 10 the boot opens by about 2mm then closes again.
So i tried the silicone spray fix.
Sprayed silicone spray all over the rubber boot seal around the boot opening.
This instantly fixed the problem. Now the boot opens perfectly 10 times out of 10
I'd rather use the spray over having the boot door adjusted especially since some of you have commented on the boot not lining up after the adjustment.
Not sure if the spray is a permanent fix and how often i need to apply it. Will wait and see.

I've just read this thread, gone out and bought a can of silicone spray and fixed my badly sticking tailgate.
Mines gone from failing every time to working every time.
Many Thanks.. I can now cancel my trip to the dealers (which took 6 weeks to get a appointment with a loan car !)
