    Incontrol Remote stopped working

Nothing at my end has changed as far as I am aware. ….

The Remote app is upto date, the car’s software is upto date, the car has been used every day for longish trips, the phone signal is good….and yet the app cannot communicate with the car., from my armchair or from by the car. Just when I needed the remote start warm up!!!

“Journeys not available”, “error communication “ are the messages when I try the respective requests on the app. Nothing works.

The app header displays “Reconnecting……….” but it doesn’t! It says the last update was a week ago.

I phoned the “help desk” who told me to do all the things I have been doing except push the roof button for 30secs……that didn’t help either.

Any ideas why I might had suddenly lost connection? And how to reconnect?

Oh my Incontrol Premium subscription is current, confirmed by JLR

With other apps if you re install that often works but I presume you’ve tried that?

Thanks for the suggestion. I did refresh the app in the first instance and it made no difference at the time.

Having revisited the help desk suggestions, I realise now that I didnt press the comms button for 30secs “while the engine was running”, so I redid their reboot with it running.

At the same time as doing this, I decided to do “belt and braces” and delete the app, hard reset the iPhone and reinstall the app. I am not sure which part of the sequence cleared the problem but cleared it has been! I can now access all the functions and info in the app.

I suspect you were correct about the app needing reinstalling…the trick I missed was not to flush out the iPhone cache before reinstalling the app.

    Thx once again
