Climate start Error
Hi,
My wife tried to used the remote app to start warming up the car yesterday morning and it came back with an error "An error occurred, try again later". She went somewhere and the car drove fine, she was then out for a nearly two hours and tried to use the app again and the same error occurred. Has anyone else had this issue? I have read all the previous threads about this and I have tried a number of the suggestions but its coming back with the same error. I know the system was working because I used it about a week ago.

Occasionally I'll get a failure, but it'll normally always work the next time I try it. And it's very rare these days. Obviously, it does require the car to have a 'signal' to receive the instruction in the first place. Could it have been related to the location she was parked in?

Car was first outside our house (a place its worked before) then it was at the local rugby club so should have had signal but the app did say reconnecting so maybe there was a problem with the signal.

Sometimes a low car battery charge interferes with remote commands. The car seems to switch off non essential stuff like Apollo 13.

I am not sure that was the case as its working now and nothing has changed, the app was giving us all other feedback and even allowing us to lock and unlock the car.

I have the same issue, No remote start or locking / unlocking. I’ve tried resetting Pivi but no change. Good reception and has previously worked in this location. (Outside my house)
I’m guessing its a trip to the dealers.

Still working fine here, but really wish the app let you switch on the heated seats and steering wheel remotely as well!! It does a great job of defrosting all the glass and being ready to drive off in the morning, but a little bit more toasty interior would be appreciated!!

I had an issue with one of my window regulators and the remote climate wouldn't work until I replaced the window regulator.

I reset the communications / telematics via the pivi menu under settings (if people need I can report the exact steps), Good news
it allowed remote start again Bad news,
it only worked once and now still gives the error message when I tried it this morning. I will try reset again tonight to see if I can repeat.

Ignore my last message. Resetting the communications has no effect but was because I had woken up the car.
This morning trying the app gave the same “an error has occurred message”, unlocking and relocking the car and then using the remote app works. I have repeated twice and get the same results. Just not sure how long it is between unlocking and failure to communicate.
It makes the remote lock / unlock a bit useless if you first need to wake the car to use the remote app.

Although using the InControl Remote App on my iPhone to start Remote Climate has recently worked, today it failed to work..
The following sequence of messages was received:
- Engine will start to power climate
- We’re still working on this..
- Almost there, we’ll inform you when it’s done.
- An error occurred, please try again later
It is assumed that the App via the phone communicates with a control centre which in turn communicates with the vehicle to initiate Remote Climate starting.
Any suggestions on how to sort?

Try unlock and lock with the key and remote start with the app, that’s how I got mine to work.

Thanks Soler for the advice.
However,, prior to unlocking and locking the vehicle again, I thought this morning that I would try initiating Remote Climate via the App and found on this occasion it worked.
Anyway, if in the future I find that is not working I will try unlocking and locking the vehicle again to see if that clears the problem.

when parked outside a country pub and assumed poor internet to be the problem.
However, when we went outside, she was running!

Yes, I had the same. Got the error message, but the car had started.
