Navigation and Phone Query
Hello, new to the Land Rover D5 having come from old Defenders and a Discovery Sport.
I could really do with some guidance from the forum.
1) Navigation - this constantly shows "loading", do you need an In Control account and add the car to enable the nav to work
2) The Micro SD card in the centre console, what is this for and how does it fit/locate? mine dosent seem to "click" when you push it down
3) Comms/Phone SIM - where is this located? can you change it to your own data only SIM?
Thank much in advance for any help you can offer, but I'm really stuck with some of this at the moment. Will buy you a "virtual" beer if you can help.
Thanks
Paul

Hi Paul,
Welcome, not so sure about the incontrol but for 2/3 I think you have a bit of a muddle there. The center console in our 2019 D5 houses the micro SIM I think that is where your trying to install an SD!

You cant use your phones SIM card so you need a data only card and this may be where you are getting confused.

1) You need an Incontrol subscription linked to your car vin number to enable things like JLR emergency call, gps location, remote access functions and to log in to YOUR maps and destinations . You also need to have that account to be able to purchase and download map updates.
2) The Micro sim under the central arm rest needs to be a Data only sim to access live map updates, internet connection. Once you have a micro sim ….just check the little pictogram next to the slot for orientation. It took me a few goes to understand which way it was indicating.
3) You don’t need to swop your phone sim, just connect your phone via Bluetooth using the touch screen to pair it with the car
Welcome to the forum….ask away if you need more.
