Went looking at new discovery deals and somehow came away having bought a D5 35th edition !
Thought we would have to downgrade from the D5 HSE but the deal and PX was to good to walk away from !
D350 engine is so much smoother and the cooled / massage seats are fantastic,
Only gripe is the fridge is now much smaller so wont fit bottles in - but that's being picky !
Some strange omissions from the HSE with the warnings in the back doors that detect oncoming traffic being deleted , rear coat hook being deleted , self park missing (never used it) and boot gesture missing (or doesn't work).
Not convinced on the silver badges or rear silver lower valance but getting used to them
Only issue was that Vertu had prepped and put my plate on the wrong car (identical but with steps and mudflaps) so had to wait while they transferred the plate and prepped the correct car
That looks awesome! Didn't even know about a 35th Edition, is that a thing, or are you joking?! If so, do tell me more, please?
I wasn't sure about the silver trim on my black Metro either, but it's ok. I'd have preferred all black, but not going to waste time and more £££ with all the hassle of getting them taken off and sprayed or wrapped.
Anyway, enjoy the car. Really does look smashing. As for the fridge, it can take 5 x normal size Red Bulls, which is what I need when doing 600-700 miles in a day, travelling on hols normally, so it's just a case of how you use it!

It was a special edition for the 35th anniversary of discovery launched back end of 2024 / early 2025 , it’s basically a metropolitan with options as “standard” and was only available in black or carapathian. They said that each dealer had been given an allocation and 250 were being made , Vertu Bolton had two in caparathian and managed to prep the wrong one for handover still I managed to get a free service , tank of fuel and a hamper as an apology for a two hour wait whilst they prepped the correct car
Funnily enough it’s badged on the rear as an XXXV but the VIN on the windscreen shows it’s a D350 metropolitan and the V5 says it’s a 35th Anniversary edition !
Somehow what is basically a Metroplitan with added full size spare ,electric towbar, tracker, black alloys and cooled massage seats was a better deal than a HSE with the options i wanted !
Yes I’ve been told by her who knows best that I can live with silver trim and badges !
All cars should be dark grey or black, so you scored well!
Looks super, I hope she proves a decent one. So long as you don't get a Friday afternoon build, I swear the D5 is one of the very best cars out there. Love mine to pieces.
